Farewell

My mother has suggested that I write a short blog post about my farewell. (When I say, "suggested" I really mean she COMMANDED me to do so). I'm doing this for her because, I love her. A lot.

My farewell went great! Thank you to all my friends that came to support me. I am so appreciative of all the wonderful people I have met throughout my life. For those that couldn't make it due to distance or forgetfulness, here is the summary of my talk:

-I've wanted to go on a mission for quite some time. (An explanation of this desire).
-I am blessed, in so many ways.
-The Gospel brings me everlasting and eternal joy.
-I want to share that joy that I have received with people who want DESERVE it.
-Everyone deserves joy in their life. And the only way to obtain ultimate joy is by finding the Gospel of Jesus Christ and then living it.
-(Paraphrasing this...) "For if you bring but one soul unto me, how great shall be your joy in the Kingdom of God." What a beautiful statement our Savior has given us.
-Nothing makes me more joyful than living the commandments that God has given me.
-I love my family they bring me joy.
-JOY JOY JOY YA YA YA happy, tear, love my family, cry some more, testimony, amen.

So basically, that was my farewell in a nutshell. I know my mom probably wanted me to post more, but honestly, that was the most important stuff.

On a more serious note, I know that God lives. I know that he loves all of his children. This knowledge brings me joy. Knowing that there is a greater, magnificent being who looks at all my imperfections and sins and still says, "I will love Caressa even if she messes up," is the most amazing feeling, ever.

I'm excited to serve a mission. 10 more days till I report to the MTC.

Some weird people who I don't even know that came to my farewell.
 My awesome Tutu.
Peggy and Dave. The best people I know.
My family. They are kind of cool, I guess.
My sister Kristin. We actually look like we like each other in this picture.
